The Orion is the light to medium duty flatbed cutter/plotter that supports a range of adaptable three-axis blade cutting tool heads and plotting pens, tough and reliable it has, in one form or another, been in constant production for over two decades.
We are pleased to introduce the latest Orion 2100 light to medium duty flatbed cutter. This is an economical reliable and adaptable cutting machine that is designed for a dual duty. It can plot with a pen on any kind of flat surface material, and it can be equipped with a dual fixed blade and rotary blade tool head that will cut fabrics, such as sailcloth and upholstery, and also paper, cardboard, fibrous composites and nylon polypropylene and PVC. As with our entire range of machines the Orion 2100 can be supplied to any international specifications. The original BW Cutters Orion blade cutter / plotter has for many years been the benchmark machine for light to medium duty cutting of textiles and sheet materials The new Orion 2100 machine has been significantly upgraded with brand-new specifications including revised and upgraded drive components and a completely new computer control system. The benefits of this re-engineering are immediately apparent. The new Orion 2100 machine is much simpler for the operator to use, and affords more control. It is faster in operation, especially in the processing and cutting of complex shapes and its reliability has been significantly enhanced. It is this combination of power, rigidity and reliability that has accounted for the success of this model in such a wide range of industrial cutting applications. Note: For accurate cutting the Orion 2100 must be mounted on a vacuum table which holds the material firmly. This can either be supplied with the machine, or outsourced by the user. It is not needed if the machine is to be used exclusively for plotting. The vacuum system that we fit to our standard models is the result of years of experience to obtain the optimum requirement for each and every customer. In a standard installation the vacuum pump would be located directly underneath the cutting table however we routinely place them separately as requested by our customers for example to accommodate clean room requirements. Typical materials cut by the Orion 2100 include: sailcloth, nylon polypropylene, upholstery and fashion fabrics, fibrous composites including prepreg, paper and cardboard in industries from bouncy castles to formula 1 car construction The standard working tables are modular starting from 1.5m X 1.67m, extendible to meet the customers’ specific needs up to 3m x 20m. For a simple table of specifications on the Orion 2100 see below.
