PARACHUTE PANEL AND AEROFOIL CUTTING
ImageModern aeronautical design uses a highly complex array of aerofoils and panels. BW Cutters manufacture a range of flatbed cutting machines that are precisely designed for the exacting task of cutting complex shapes in parachute and aerofoil material for the parachuting and ultralight aviation industry. A single parachute is made of dozens of complex panels that have to be cut with considerable precision to give the parachute envelope the precise aerodynamic characteristics required. The ripstop nylon is light and strong, but must be firmly held down to the surface of the cutting table by a strong vacuum system so that the blade does not cause the lightweight material to bunch or roll. Our vacuum tables are powerful enough that up to eight layers can be cut simultaneously, greatly increasing production rates. Image

In the same class of products are the machine that we have sold to hang-glider and ultralight manufacturers. Both of these applications demand both speed and precision, and all of the Blackman and White flatbed cutters have proven themselves capable of providing both, whilst delivering very low maintenance costs and exceptional reliability. We have supplied machines in both the Orion and the Mastercut class for this application.
