Pen plotters, designed for large format pattern plotting by sailmakers

Large Format Flatbed Plotting Machines All of the Blackman and White flatbed cutting machines can be configured with a plotter pen tool head that allows them to operate as a multi-function large-format plotter, as well as a flatbed cutting machine.

The Orion platform can be designed to operate primarily as a large format plotter with light-duty cutting capabilities.

On the Genesis and Mastercut 2000/2100 models, although not specifically designed as a plotters, when the pen holder head is fitted then the machines can be used as dual-duty plotter/cutters for those operations where the client wishes to hand cut, but machine plot the panel shape. The pens can be any type that the client desires. Either a simple fiber pen or a complex roller ball pen. The Orion plotter/cutter has been used in a wide range of light duty cutting applications such as sailmaking. The unit is ideally suited for the plotting of standard sailcloth materials, and equipped with either a standard fixed blade or pizza wheel tool head, it can effectively cut almost all grades of synthetic woven and sheet fabric.

bw_cutter6.jpg (16943 bytes)The adaptability of the Mastercut and Genesis 2100 platforms is such that the machines can be configured to cut a wide variety of materials by simply switching the tools in the cutting head. Currently it can be fitted with a tool head as simple as a pen plotter holder, or a fixed blade, but the heavy duty Mastercut range of machines can also support very powerful laser cutting heads of between 50 and 400 watts. The platforms can also support a new developed ink jet print head that is able to plot parts numbers or component names (for example) directly onto components as they are being cut. The ink jet unit is industrial grade with a remote ink reservoir system that feeds ink through a high pressure pipe. The unit can be serviced a and refilled without extended downtime, and the reservoir capacity ensures that long production runs can be accommodated.
